Camp Manual/Expectations
All the details about STORM Camp, our expectations, requirements, etc. are all listed in these two manuals.
One is specifically about the "rules" for Adult Drivers and the other manual outlines the guidelines we have for all youth who share the week's activities with us. Below are some specifics that we need you to review now.
CELL PHONES
We'd like to reiterate that NO CELL phones are allowed. This is for both safety and to encourage participation and community between all STORM campers. Access to a pay phone is available at the Lodge and our drivers/leaders have phones in case of any emergency that may arise.
ADULT DRIVERS
Our policy is to have at least one adult driver for every 5 campers (6 passenger vehicle required). These drivers participate fully in the STORM experience and are not simply "chaperones". Adults who work well with youth, have a faith commitment and who can be positive role models are encouraged to participate. Adult drivers need to register as well and the cost for them is $250. If your group has problems securing a driver or vehicle let me (David Brown) know as soon as possible.
DRESS CODE
We require that all participants follow a modest and simple dress code. This excludes short shorts, low necklines and spaghetti strap tops. t-shirts and jeans appropriate for work purposes are required and close toed shoes/boots. Typically we have little problems with this. In the case of any infraction we require the camper to change. This is both for safety and to have a positive effect on the community we serve.
GROUP MEETINGS
Our days at STORM Camp are packed full of work and worship. If you want private time with your youth group, you need to plan around our tight schedule. Generally, you may want to meet after any of our evening chapel services.
