WHAT- STORM Ministries is a non-profit, inter-denominational Christian outreach organization based in Minnesota who's sole mission is to Serve Jesus By Serving Others ( SJXSO.)

We are a group of dedicated volunteers who have built a ground swell of interest and participation in our primary ministry - STORM Camp.
STORM stands for: Service To Others In Relational Ministry. This fits our local and global outreach activities and maintains the positive identity we have with each other, with others in the communities we serve and most of all with Jesus.

WHAT- At this point, we coordinate a one week "camp" experience for approximately150 youth(13-18yrs old ) that is centered around various service projects for residents in the local communities we serve. STORM provides the labor and provides materials when needed.

By offering our time, talents and services without gain we are sincerely supporting the mission of Serving Jesus By Serving Others.

WHEN - STORM Camp occurs in late July each year. This ensures good weather for the variety of projects that our campers complete during their week long stay.

WHERE - Our "base" camp in located in Park Rapids, Minnesota at Northern Pines Assembly Grounds. It is nestled in the beautiful pine forest and sits a top a hill overlooking Fish Hook Lake. We welcome youth from all over the country to participate.

Beautiful Northern Pines Camp has wonderful lodging, meal service and a great staff to ensure our stay is comfortable, fun and safe. They are members of  the ACA - American Camping Association which supports various standards of a quality camping experience.

WHY - We feel whenever our youth can fellowship together , share their faith, service and friendship with each other and with those we serve everyone benefits. Each "camper" is changed in powerful ways and the communities we serve are also deeply changed.

Many campers return to camp and many continue on with SJXSO in their hearts for the rest of their lives. We are proud to have many past participants who now serve as adult volunteers at STORM Camp. Many serve in their own local church's youth programs, some are called to become leaders and go on to do other ministries.

Who We Serve

If you have a need outside the areas we have listed below please send us your request by e-mail @  Contact Us. or send us a letter at the address at the top of the screen. We will try to help in any way we can

Affiliates

Throughout the year many other congregations throughout the US are moved to continue the motivation they receive via STORM activities and they go out to their own communities and do local service projects in support of SJXSO.

Those churches typically send their youth to the Minnesota based STORM Camp or have created their own actions in support of this concept.

If you are interested in knowing more about who they are, where they are located,  you can go the the Special Links page to learn more about those who support and participate in the ministry of STORM.

We Do MORE...

We support other churches doing the same kinds of projects and we act as a motivator to get churches from all over to help those in their own communities.

While STORM Camp is what got this ministry started, we desire to offer support for other churches hoping to do similar service activities in their communities. We can offer to help others understand the STORM model and how it has worked so well.

World Missions too...

STORM Ministries is planning to reach across the globe to Santiago - Guatemala where we support a "sister" mission called SE LUZ. In Spanish that means - Be Light.

We are seeking to help the local community to stand on its own to help repair, construct and support a growing community structure through SJXSO too! Follow those links to see and find out more.
